Route 66 is the road trip that started the idea of this store: a highway built for the slow kind of looking. Here’s how to run it with gummies the way the road deserves — planned stops, planned doses, and a driver who never dosed.
The run
The classic stretch is Seligman, AZ to Tucumcari, NM — two days of small towns, diner stops, and the best straight miles in the lower 48. The plan that works:
- Day 1: drive the first half sober. Arrive at your base (a motel with a good porch is the whole point of Motel Magic’s name) around 4pm. Dinner, then the gummy — 6pm, food in the stomach, porch in front of you.
- Day 2: the second half. Same pattern at the other end of the stretch. Two doses across the trip, both planned, both with the full 3–5 hour window protected.
The kit
- Two Green Apple pouches (or your rotation — the ranking has the logic) + the insulated kit if you’re parking in an Arizona car.
- Water: more than you think. The food & water guide is the non-negotiable read before a highway trip.
- The keepsake lane: a hotel keychain per passenger — Route 66 motels still look like the name on the keychain.
- No driving after dosing. The next day’s drive happens before the day’s gummy, or with a driver who stayed sober. Non-negotiable.
Flavor logic for the road
Day 1: Sunset Punch — the flavor is a dosing instruction, and the high-desert sunset is the reason. Day 2: Pineapple for the tail end, or Juicy Peach if the trip’s earning full strength. The full first-timer setup is in the first gummy guide, and the timing math in the timeline.
