The timing
Beach days run long, so back-plan: if home-by-dark is the plan (it should be, for a first-timer), the gummy goes in around 2–3pm, after the beach lunch. That puts the build in the last shade of the afternoon, the peak in the golden hour, and the fade on the couch, not the car. The packing

The shade rule
Direct sun at peak is where beach days go wrong: the heat adds to the elevation, the dizziness becomes a real thing, and the “I feel great” at 4pm is the last thing anyone wants to say.
